Rebecca Crawford

Name: Rebecca Crawford
What is your job title? Senior Designer
How long have you been in the lighting industry? 7 years
What is your favourite thing about the industry and your job? I love being able to take inspiration from any new location around the world. I often find myself taking in the surroundings of a new bar or spa and wanting to find out how various effects were created. Sometimes the most effective of designs can often be the simplest.
What do you see the future of LED lighting looking like in 5 years’ time? I see the use of smart control with LED lighting playing a big part of the day to day use in the home. It is becoming more accessible and as the technologies develop, more user friendly also and easy to integrate into other aspects of the home, such as security and heating.
What is your favourite aspect about Dubai? I love the multitude of different design approaches with interiors. Dubai has such a glorious clash of cultures that it will never cease to amaze me.
Name one thing that you find completely different from the UK? The intensity of the light in Dubai is much greater than London. I am looking forward to working on some beautiful designs that enhance the architecture by night, without unnecessary light pollution. On a personal note, I will miss commuting on my bicycle and cold frosty mornings!

We look forward to welcoming you to our newly opened Dubai showroom soon!
